About Us
We take old, unused bikes and give them a new lease on life. Our dedicated teams of volunteers and young people work together to refurbish these bikes, learning valuable skills and earning AQA qualifications in the process. The restored bikes are then:
-
- Donated to local families in need,
-
- Used in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester
-
- Or sold, with all proceeds reinvested into the Positive Cycles project to purchase equipment and parts.
Ability Wheelz
We also provide a large variety of specially adapted bikes available for hire, these are aimed towards people with disabilities, including double bikes, trikes, go karts, normal bikes and many more that can be ridden around the award-winning Alexandra park for up to 2 hours
Visit Our Bike Shop
Our bike shop is located in Alexandra Park and is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 3pm, Whether you’re looking to donate an old bike, purchase a refurbished one, or explore our bike hire options, we’d love to see you there!

If you’d like to donate a bike, purchase a refurbished one, or learn more about our programs, please get in touch. Together, we can keep the wheels turning for a more sustainable and inclusive community!
Workshop & Community Impact
Our bike workshop also collaborates with the Youth Justice Service, offering young offenders the chance to complete unpaid community work. We also work with Positive Futures (our alternative provision) to support young people’s development. Through cleaning and repairing donated bikes, they gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and earn AQA qualifications, all while contributing to a meaningful cause.
